nwadmin

SYNOPSIS

       nwadmin [ -s server ]
       networker [ -s server ]

DESCRIPTION

       nwadmin  is  an  X Window System application.  It is used to administer
       and monitor NetWorker servers.

       The server's name can be specified with the -s server  argument.   When
       no  server  is specified, nwadmin uses the server selection rules found
       in nsr(1).  When multiple NetWorker servers are accessible, they can be
       selected from within the nwadmin command.

       The nwadmin command is used to administer NetWorker servers.

       You can do the following:

       o Add and delete clients.

       o Create and modify schedules that control save levels.

       o Create and control client groups.

       o Create and modify directives that control how data is saved.

       o Recover or clone save sets.

       o Clone backup volumes.

       o Monitor NetWorker activity.

       Some activities you can monitor from the console include:

       o The current state of NetWorker servers.

       o The amount of data saved.

       o The clients currently saving data.

       o Requests for mounting and unmounting volumes.

       The  graphical  interfaces for backup and recover are available through
       nwbackup(1) and nwrecover(1), respectively.

OPTIONS

       -s server
              Set the current NetWorker server to server.

       <X-args>

ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES

       NWADMIN_POLL
              Set the default nwadmin polling interval to the designated  num-
              ber  of  seconds.  Must be a positive integer value. The maximum
              allowed value is constrained by the  Networker*PollScale.maximum
              value  in  the Networker app-defaults file. The polling interval
              controls how often nwadmin contacts the server in  order  to  be
              able  to display latest status information, and can additionally
              be changed via nwadmin's Options menu.  If no value is  set  for
              this environment variable, a default of 10 seconds will apply.

       NWADMIN_POLL_MULT
              Set the default nwadmin polling interval mulltiplier to the des-
              ignated value. Must be a positive  integer  value.  The  maximum
              allowed value is constrained by the Networker*PollMultScale.max-
              imum value in  the  Networker  app-defaults  file.  The  polling
              interval  multiplier  controls how much slower nwadmin will poll
              the server when nwadmin is  iconified.   (Slower  polling  while
              iconified  helps  decrease  server  load).  Thus, if the polling
              interval is set to 10 seconds and the multiplier is  set  to  6,
              then  polling happens once per minute when nwadmin is iconified,
              and once every 10 seconds  otherwise.   The  polling  multiplier
              value can additionally be changed via nwadmin's Options menu. If
              no value is set for this environment variable, a  default  of  6
              will apply.
